Indeed, our love affair with the ocean is not new. We were able to closely observe the evolution of the marine world, according to the various types of pollution brought by man.

We know that protecting your skin from the harmful rays of the sun is important for your health. Based on this observation, we have made ecological commitments so that taking care of your health does not come at the expense of that of our oceans.

A little over thirty years ago, the whole of France dreamed of the America's Cup, behind Marc Pajot and French Kiss, his then revolutionary design sailboat, a true emblem of French know-how.

​

Never, before or after 1987, has a French team climbed so high in the list of winners of this emblematic competition of world sailing and never again, moreover, has a "union" made France dream so much.  

French Kiss remains a known and recognized symbol of excellence, both in France and around the world.

Designed by Philippe Briand, French Kiss was built a few kilometers from La Roche-sur-Yon, in Vendée, in the middle of the cows in a secret hangar, by the Alubat shipyard. ​

We are passionate navigators, who practice water sports at the highest level. For decades we have been passionate about the sea and the oceans, whether on the surface or in their mysterious depths.

Over the years, preserving this environment has become our priority. At the same time, we want to offer sailors and lovers of the open sea a product that can protect them from the sun during their adventures.

This is why today this passion has turned into a real ecological commitment. We wanted to develop a sunscreen with no impact on  corals and the planet while offering the best protection on the market

A sunscreen without impact on the oceans

In order to best protect the oceans, our organic sunscreen certified by Ecocert is also vegan, Low Tow, and Skin Safety certified.

An organic and vegan sunscreen

Our sunscreen is certified organic by the Ecocert - Cosmos label.  Organic. This certification ensures our environmental commitment. And since that might sound a bit fuzzy, here's what this label guarantees exactly:

  Recyclable packaging

   The absence of genetically modified organisms

   The fact that all ingredients are of natural origin (except for a small list of approved exceptions, such as certain preservatives)

   95% of the plants in the formula must be organic

   The presence of at least 20% organic ingredients

   Respect for biodiversity

   The absence of petrochemical ingredients (excluding authorized preservatives). Among these unauthorized ingredients are paraben, perfumes     synthetic, or even phenoxyethanol

   The development of the concept of green chemistry

   Responsible use of natural resources

   Production processes that respect the environment and health

Our ecological sunscreen has therefore been scrupulously checked and tested. Obtaining this label was for us a sine qua non for the sale of this product.

In addition, our ecological sunscreen has a 100% vegan composition and is cruelty-free. Indeed, for us, respecting nature also means using a cream that does not contain any product of animal origin and which is obviously not tested on animals.

The innovative Low Tox composition

​

After several years of research by our laboratory, a Low Tox composition has been developed. Our sunscreen is therefore called “Ocean Friendly”, in particular thanks to its resistance to water, its eco-design and its photostability.

A Low Tox sunscreen must be good for the skin. For this, it must not contain endocrine disruptors, nano-particles, silicones, parabens… The ingredient that we most wanted to avoid is oxybenzone, which would be the most harmful for corals. Indeed, the latter absorb it, which causes their loss of color and then their death. In addition to this loss of the “lungs of the ocean”, oxybenzone destroys the micro-algae on their surface and thus removes many growth and reproduction areas for marine fauna.

Finally, our coral-friendly sunscreen obtained a score of 100/100 on the Yuka application, which assesses the quality of cosmetic products. This application is renowned for not being influenced by large industrial groups and it guarantees sound funding without conflicts of interest.

A “Skin Safety” label to protect your skin

​

Finally, in addition to our ecological commitments directly linked to the environment and marine environments, it was obvious to offer a coral-friendly sunscreen that is also respectful of the skin and health.

Our SOFIA cosmetics laboratory allows us to use new generation filters. Thus, our sunscreen does not contain any controversial filters. Its formula is clean, non-irritating and non-allergenic. We didn't want to use chemical filters, as they have been shown to be traced to the bloodstream with high usage.

You can therefore apply this cream with confidence, and enjoy its very pleasant fluid texture. The presence of organic filters makes it effective upon application: no need to wait 30 minutes to see the effects!
